“When the United States in the form of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo turned up at the ministerial meeting of the Arctic Council in Rovaniemi, Finland, he spent most of his energy attacking China and ended up vetoing the communique that had been agreed upon by everyone else. The reason? It mentioned climate change, and that was not acceptable to the Trump administration. All others had been discussing little but the rising temperatures, which are happening two or three times faster than anywhere else.”

“All the others issued the paper agreed between them anyhow. Pompeo flew away, saying he was on his way to Greenland. He didn’t show up he canceled the visit.”

“Canceling visits now seems to be what remains of Arctic policy for the United States. Perhaps just as well. All other countries are keen to try to prevent Greenland from turning green again. We would all suffer the consequences.”

Medicynical note: Foreign policy? Insulting to all but Russia and China who love it’s ineptitude.

““One likely reason for the lower-than-expected receipts is that some parts of the economy have been weaker than C.B.O. projected in April 2018,” the budget office said. “A number of developments other than the tax act appear to have contributed to that weakness, including increases in tariffs, greater uncertainty about trade policy and slower economic growth in the rest of the world.””

Medicynical note: Now tell me again how we are going to run the government like a business……but please not his businesses. How many bankruptcies?

“Donald Trump on Wednesday repeated an antisemitic trope that has prompted dismay among prominent American Jews, saying that voting Democratic was “disloyal to Jewish people and … very disloyal to Israel”.”

“Prominent US Jews have reacted with shock and disdain to Trump’s renewed adoption of a longstanding antisemitic trope that implied that American Jews had divided loyalty to America and to Israel. Over almost 24 hours he has repeatedly described Jewish Americans who vote for Democrats as showing “either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty”.”

Medicynical note: This grandiose borderline psychopath is not fit for the presidency. His increasingly bizarre comments and actions point to an evolving psychopathology. Amazing that he was elected and that his party seems ignores his obvious severe mental disability.

“As Steven Waldman notes in the Atlantic, “dual-allegiance charges go much further than offering a polite disagreement on policy. They imply not only that a group is un-American, but that its adherents have no agency. They cannot be patriotic, because they are thoroughly under the influence of a foreign power or code.” It’s a way of suggesting not just that one is an “other” but also that one is brainwashed, hypnotized, or lacking in moral agency as a result of nefarious foreign forces. It’s a suggestion that you are a pawn, and lucky to have a protector. This is a slur and a scandal in which the president of the United States is invoking an age-old, blood-soaked, anti-Jewish trope. And, ever the narcissist, Trump is also warning all American Jews that he will not protect them if they are disloyal to him.”

Medicynical note: Never thought in my life that I’d hear anybody, much less the President, stoop so low. His comments are steeped in antisemitic tropes and insulting to not only to Jews but to all citizens. He’s become a bad joke and really needs to go.

“(CNN)Less than two weeks before his scheduled trip to Denmark, President Donald Trump announced on Twitter that he has postponed his visit to Copenhagen after the Danish Prime Minister disputed his interest in buying Greenland as “absurd.”

Medicynical Note: You really can’t make up this incompetence.

The President cries uncle and seeks help for the “best economy” (sic) ever. So in addition to personally creating the largest peacetime deficits ever in a “good” economy, Trump is now proposing to raid Social Security in an attempt to revive his slowly tanking re-election.

And Trump’s typical incoherent comment clarified……..nothing.

“President Trump on Tuesday confirmed that he is considering whether to push for a temporary payroll tax cut amid mounting concerns about an economic slowdown, rebutting numerous White House officials who had insisted that such an idea was not under review.”

“Trump’s remarks came one day after The Washington Post reported that several senior White House officials had begun discussing such a move.”

“”Payroll tax is something that we think about, and a lot of people would like to see that, and that very much affects the workers of our country,” Trump said Tuesday during an exchange with reporters at the White House.”

Jeffrey Epstein apparently committed suicide rather than face trial. But our psychopath president had other ideas.

“Hours after Epstein’s death Saturday, as the hashtag #EpsteinMurder was trending worldwide on Twitter, the president joined Twitter speculation around Epstein’s death while under the federal government’s watch.”

“Trump, who rose to conservative prominence by falsely claiming Obama wasn’t born in the U.S., retweeted unsubstantiated claims about Epstein’s death.”

“Other politicians also took to social media to question the circumstances.”

Medicynical Note: So while under the watchful eye of the Trump administration’s Justice Department; in a facility under the supervision of Trump appointee Attorney General William Barr, Epstein was, it is speculated, actually murdered. By whom? Trump and his acolytes accuse and blame everybody but themselves. Senseless, but that’s what the world has learned to expect from this erratic, dangerous, incompetent President, his associates and the sad sack republicans.

Trump, in addition, to undermining the EU, has alienated Turkey, failed to eradicate ISIS, undermined any future Israel/Palestine peace prospects, pulled out of the Iran Nuclear deal, passively accepted the murder of a US journalist by Saudi Arabia, abrogated the Trans Pacific Partnership, criticized South Korea while praising North Korea, slapped tariffs on our closest and best friends, voided our participation in family planning schemes around the world, and denied human caused global warming in the face of overwhelming proof. As such his policies are perfect for undermining US influence and friends around the world and have indirectly helped Russia increase its influence around the world.

And now this

Medicynical note: Trumps deal-making gut feelings have been a disaster for America’s standing in the world. He’s slowly stripping away our long term friends while touting his ersatz close relationship with Kim and Putin.
